So that more of our
(vulnerable) children may have the opportunity
to enter
Kindergarten prepared to be happy and successful in school and
beyond.
Our
future depends on
fostering the healthy well being of the next generation. Wise
investment in our children will pay back through productive
lives and responsible citizenship. Prevention has
always proved to have better outcomes and to be more cost
effective than remediation.

Early
childhood experiences
are critical to the emotional and intellectual development of a
child. The brain's architecture is built from the bottom up -
the simple circuits and skills learned before school provide the
scaffolding for more advanced circuits and skills over time.
HIPPY
is designed to bring families,
organizations and communities together and remove any barriers
that may include limited financial resources, immigration,
social isolation or lack of education. The
programme
is offered to vulnerable children aged 3,4 and 5 years who are
at risk of not being prepared for Kindergarten and the
consequent literacy problems.
